ITANAGAR, Nov 8: A documentary film, titled, ‘Apne Ajnabi’, of the Arunachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority (APSLSA) was released on the second day of the National Meet of Para Legal volunteers at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi today by Chief Justice of India designate and National Executive Chairman of NALSA, Justice TS Thakur along with Supreme Court Judge, Justice Anil R. Dave, and Executive Chairman, Arunachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority, Justice Hrishikesh Roy.

Apne Ajnabi has been directed by Rang Virasat from New Delhi on the issues of racial discrimination faced by the people from the Northeast in the mainland India coupled with the idea and feelings of national integration.
The film traces the journey of one Talo, a boy from Ziro, who comes down to New Delhi for a career in singing and faces racial abuses and assault, obtains the help of legal services authorities in his defence during legal proceedings, stated a release.

ITANAGAR, Nov 8: Chief Minister Nabam Tuki urged Arunachal Pradesh Police (APP) to maintain a delicate balance between moral and legal duties as the situation in Arunachal is distinctly different from other states. The Chief Minister was addressing the APP’s 43rd Raising Day celebration at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium, Naharlagun today.
Highlighting the duties and responsibilities of a policeman, Tuki said that human rights are core values which the police have a moral as well as a legal duty to uphold.
The situation in Arunachal in terms of policing is very distinct and peculiar. The state has so many tribes distinctly different from each other with highly sensitive ethos and egos. People get hurt by simple things. Hence, they (Police) must maintain a delicate balance between protecting human rights and preserving the security of the people, which though difficult, is not impossible, said Tuki.
The power of a police officer lies in his ability to enforce the law. The police
forces are different from defense forces in a sense they have to work with civil
society for maintaining law and order. Their job is no less important than the defense
forces, since handling the tricky situations while operating in the vicinity of civilians
can be more challenging than guarding the borders. In a broad sense, police keep
the bad elements of society at bay. They fight for maintaining peace and harmony.

A and B tell me their brother goes to school. But they have to work to pay for their family’s expense. There are many like them working in the various corners of the state. Some of them work outside too. They have been sent off by their parents willingly to work as maids.
“Recently we rescued a girl from Changlang working as maid in Itanagar. She has been handed over to Oju Mission Orphanage. But she refuses to go back. She says she will rather stay here than go back or else she will be sold again,” shares Labour officer Lee Ete. Such is the harsh reality.

Only 'rescuing' children, often will not help. What is required is addressing the reasons that force children to work. Children work mainly to help their families because the adults do not have appropriate employment and adequate income. Children also work because there is a demand for cheap labour in the market.
In light of these contributing factors, it seems child labour is not going to disappear very easily in the near future. It will continue to flourish unless economic conditions of the people are improved and women are treated as equals.
And like what the labour officer has said, children will still refuse to go back home because they will still be sold. “They don’t even get to have a proper meal in their homes. They are better off with us,” someone had said and till the situation improves this stands true.

CM satisfied with CC road works in Capital Complex
ITANAGAR, Nov 8: Chief Minister Nabam Tuki accompanied by Local MLA and UD Parliamentary Secretary Techi Kaso today inspected ongoing construction work of Cement Concrete road at Naharlagun.
A total of 13km of CC road works were completed in and around Naharlagun and the remaining work is slated to be completed by the end of this year.
Satisfied with the pace and progress of work, Chief Minister reiterated his vision and commitment of durable road for the Capital Complex. He directed the department officers to leave no stone unturned to complete the project well in time by maintaining quality.
Tuki directed PWD department to expedite maintenance work of roads in Itanagar including construction of CC pavement roads in the sectors. It may be mentioned that the state government has already released funds for maintenance of capital roads and expectedly the work would be completed within a span of two to three months.

ITANAGAR, Nov 8: The results of State Level Painting Competition on Energy Conservation under National Campaign on Energy Conservation were announced.

Tourism dept and stakeholders working hard

This is with reference to the news published recently under the headline 'TOURISM DEPT. REFUTES GOVERNER'S CLAIM'.
Arunachal Pradesh Tour Operators Association (APTOA) being the biggest stakeholder of tourism in the state supports the statement and clarification of tourism dept. The figure of tourist arrival of both Indian & foreign tourist has grown significantly in the recent year. More revenue has been generated due to the efforts of dept. of tourism and its stakeholders.
We, the APTOA members strives hard to promote and bring in more tourists to the state through various Nationals & International Travel fairs & festivals where Tourism dept. helps the tour operators by supporting us in every possible way.
We along with the dept. are instrumental in promoting Arunachal tourism through attending
fairs & festival like WTM, London, ITB Berlin, PATA, Satte, ITM, TTM etc. With all
our hard work and efforts we manage to achieve success after being awarded 'World's

Various new policies is being adopted by the dept. to promote tourism through tour operators by providing opportunities like Hunar se Rozgar, Mukhiya Mantri Paryatan Vikas Yojna, providing Homestays, Tented camps, adventure equipments and organizing various cultural, musical and adventure festivals and holding capacity building training programs.

More of ideological war
Dear Editor,
Through the esteemed column of your daily, I want to express my views with regards to some so called prominent people who are returning their awards due to the growing intolerance in the country as alleged by them after the BJP led NDA government came to power at the center. Certainly I too feel the heat of intolerance has increased among some section of people in the recent past. But for that to return their awards, is it justified? I don't think so, I find it ridiculous & laughable.
The recent incidents where some fringe elements, not state actors trying to dictates & throw their majoritarian beliefs on others on dietary habits like: for e.g urging the government to ban the selling & killing of Cow all over the country, ghar wapasi; death of Akhlaq & many other such issues has not gone down well with the minorities & that can't be denied for sure.
I too have strong reservation on such issues & I am very critical about it. I have always raised my voice & opinions in all these issues time & again in various forums.
Having said that, here I find the matter is bit different. Some people are deliberately keeping their eyes closed & they don't want to acknowledge any good things which are happening in the Modi government. This made me wonder whether their returning awards to the government is a genuine one or it's just a sheer propaganda to defame the BJP led NDA government at the center. I doubt, there's some deep rooted conspiracy behind to defame BJP led NDA government. Whether we like it or not, we shouldn't forget that its people of India, who has given the mandate to the BJP led NDA to run the government for 5 years & we as a nation should respect the verdict of the people.
Moreover law & order is a state subject. How center can be blamed for every little issues which are happening in UP, Karnataka, Arunachal Pradesh & in any other states of the country. No country is perfect not even so called great super power USA. In a vast country like India, which has a population of 125 crore there may or will be a section of organizations, groups or people who may have their own set of agenda & their agendas can be detrimental to the very existence of our country.
We should not just get carried away by their mere symbolic gestures. These bunch of hypocrite who are returning their awards are followers of certain ideology. It's not a sin to believe in certain ideology but returning their awards it doesn't make any sense at all & it will not serve any purpose either.
It seems it is more of an ideological war then to do with intolerance. God only can save my country from these so called intellectual.

(Gender), RMSA/State Nodal Officer, Kala Utsav, Arunachal Pradesh for conducting
state level art and culture competitive events in various categories to represent

that district level competition has been conducted in every district on 23rd and
24th of October 2015 and we received the e-
Accordingly the judges will select the best 3 teams (1st, 2nd and 3rd) for state level competition that will be held on 13th November 2015 at Itanagar. The selected teams from the state level competition will be sent to New Delhi for participation in National level which is going to be held from 8th to 12th December 2015.
The team will be lead and guided by the State Nodal Officer, RMSA, Rajya Mission, Itanagar, in the final competition at New Delhi.
